Hey everyone,
It's you're favorite guy in the whole wide world, Stell. So I saw how the MSIWindOSX installer cd turned out. Looked like kind of a mixed bag, but mostly positive. I want to give a shout out to Dense, Onetrack, Paul, Weaksauce, Stoked4Life and everyone in the community for giving over 30 pages of feedback!
So on to the new method...
There have been some advancements in the OSx86 community as of the last few months and I'd like to apply that knowledge again to the wonderful Wind notebook. I sadly don't have one, but hey maybe someday.
This new method is called Boot-132 and will allow the installation of a retail copy of Leopard on your system. There are various generic Boot-132 *.iso files out there, but I'd like to do a proper one for the Wind notebook.
So why would you want to do Boot-132 instead of different methods?
-Install from Retail Leopard DVD or restore to HDD, USB HDD, USB FLASH KEY and install from that location
-Update Leopard to any version without fear of "breaking" your system. ALL UPDATES WILL WORK! Update from 10.5 to 10.5.5 just like a real mac.
-Graphics and other drivers won't need to be reinstalled after updates, it'll just work!
-If new osx86 kext drivers do come out for the Wind, it'll be as simple as downloading a small file to give you the best updated experience.
-Boot132 can be loaded from a USB Flash Key, SD Card, CD, DVD (You choose)----------------------------
Before I go ahead and put this thing completely together, I'm going to need testers.
Criteria for being a tester:-Must have Wind Notebook or Rebrand Notebook (Advent, Akoya, etc)
-Must have Retail DVD or backup of Mac OSX Leopard 10.5 or 10.5.4
-Must have External DVD or External HDD **Note - DVD will require Dual Layer DVD**
-Must have Bios bootable USB Flash Key or SD Card
-Must have computer with Windows XP
-Must have AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or Google Talk
If you meet these minimum requirements, please respond to the thread
AND send me a PM with your AIM or Google Talk screen name.
-----------
Hope to hear from you all, thanks.
