I called MSI today and spoke to sales. They confirmed that on the 16th the Wind WILL be for sale on the website. They didn't know about the distribution to other sellers, but he reassured me that they would be for sale on the 16th. He didn't say what time the site would have it though. I just hope they don't sell out before I get a chance to order.

Thanks for calling MSI...
One question though....Why is no one who has been calling MSI asking about what battery they'll be shipping with?

I tried calling and emailing both last week with no response. The email asked 3 things: Colors for initially available, battery size, and if they would offer pre-order. They never answered the email and i got stuck in the recording loop 6 times on he phone. That is why I was following Hand-built so closely. Now that the latter is no longer an option, I am going to go for the MSI option. Hopefully they still ahave a black one for me when the dust settles.

As of today though there is nothing on the store site about the wind. Not even a coming soon.

Makes ya wonder a bit...........

The description of the xp model indicates a 6 cell on the website and 3 cell

• Weight: 2.3 lbs (3 cell) / 2.6 lbs (6 cell)

So if it weights 2.3 lbs its a 3, there website also indicates linux version due in july, but I go for xp and partition the drive and put mint linux on it

You can tell launch is near, allot of info now on the website, reviews pixs

Well, I don't think any of these retailers have a clue as to what MSI is really going to ship, so I would take any retailer's listing of the weight spec with a giant pillar of salt.

This is coming from MSI website, not a retailer

I'm not questioning the MSI specs (IF it weighs 2.3, THEN it's a 3-cell battery), but who says the one you're buying weighs 2.3 instead of 2.6? MSI gives the specs for both, but that doesn't tell us anything about what battery will be included when the Wind goes on sale on Monday. That's all I'm saying.
Cheers.

If everyone would look it will cost you $479.99 for the 3 cell battery and $499.99 for the 6 cell battery, thats from MSI's specification sheet. I'm sure you'll be provided a choice on Monday as to which battery you wish to purchase.

Can you provide a like to this specification sheet? I've never seen the $479.99/3 cell combo

Not quite sure what you're saying here.

The problem is that there have been conflicting reports as to what will ship and MSI's own product pages are inconsistent.
Since web sources have been unreliable, it would be very nice to hear something from an MSI rep.
